Shonishin
Shonishin, more commonly known as Paediatric Acupuncture, has been practiced in Japan since the eighteenth century. Shonishin involves the use of different tools to perform stimulation all over the body. Techniques used are stroking, tapping and vibration on acupressure points - these techniques stimulate receptors in the body thereby affecting the meridian system and autonomic nervous system correcting imbalances. Imbalances in children may lead to many different symptoms.
Each child is treated individually with a specialized program developed for them depending on their stage of development and using the acupuncture meridians requiring stimulation. Treatments for children are short, simple, non-invasive and pleasant.
Shonishin treatments are gaining popularity around the world and are used by Paediatricians, General Practitioners, Orthopedists, Midwives, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in many countries including Japan, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the USA and UK.
Shonishin may assist with managing symptoms of many conditions. A comprehensive consultation with your practitioner will be conducted to determine whether Shonishin may be appropriate for your particular condition and symptoms. Please contact us for further information.
